Thin, biocompatible mouthguards, custom-made to the exact shape of your teeth. They are worn on the dental arches and move the teeth gradually — you change to the next one every two weeks, until the final result. They are not visible during normal conversation. They are removed for eating and brushing your teeth. Everything else remains the same.
The principle is the same as traditional orthodontics. The experience is completely different.

How the process works
Four phases. No surprises.

First visit
We assess your oral health, bite and the position of your teeth. If aligners are suitable for your case, we’ll let you know. If they aren’t, we’ll tell you that too. You’ll leave with a personalised quote and a clear, transparent payment plan.
3D scanning and simulation
The digital scanner detects the mouth impression in a few seconds. We build the simulation: you see the final result, you approve the plan. Only then do we produce the aligners.
Therapy and check-ups
You wear the masks for 20–22 hours a day — you take them off to eat and for personal hygiene. Every two weeks, you switch to the next one, on your own. Check-ups at the clinic are every four weeks: brief, scheduled, with no unexpected visits.
Retainer: the step that preserves the result
At the end, the teeth are in the correct position. The retainer – a thin mouthguard to be worn at night – serves to stabilise them while the tissues adapt. It is included in the treatment plan. Those who wear it preserve the result.

Aligners are recommended from the age of 12–14, once all the permanent teeth have come through. Less embarrassment, no dietary restrictions — and often greater motivation than with fixed braces. We’ll assess your case together during your first appointment.

Dr Riccardo Masia, a specialist in orthodontics who graduated with honours from the University of Turin and has treated over 3,000 patients, personally oversees every orthodontic treatment programme at Olbia Dental Studio.
He has treated patients aged between 14 and 60 with clear aligners, with cases ranging from minor misalignments to the most complex malocclusions. There is no one-size-fits-all protocol: each treatment plan is tailored to the individual’s mouth, not to an average.

Can you see them?
In everyday conversation, no. With very direct light, up close, you notice a slight reflection – as you would on any transparent surface. In real life, practically no one notices. And for those occasions when you prefer absolute certainty, you can remove them.
Will I be able to keep them for 20-22 hours a day?
Adult patients who have consciously chosen this therapy usually have no difficulties. In the first few days, one gets used to the routine — masks off for eating, on again after brushing teeth. After the first week, it's automatic.
How long does the treatment last?
Mild cases: 3-6 months. Moderate: 6-12. Complex: up to 24. The ClinCheck simulation at the first appointment estimates the duration with good accuracy. You will know straight away which bracket your case falls into.
How much do Invisalign aligners cost in Olbia?
Treatment with aligners can cost between 5,000 and 6,000 euros for the most complex cases. These figures include the 3D scan, the simulation, all the aligners in the series, follow-up appointments and the final retainer. The final quote is drawn up during the first appointment, following the clinical assessment. Orthodontic costs can be paid in convenient monthly instalments and are tax-deductible under code 19%.
Do they cost more than fixed braces?
Generally yes. However, the more useful question is: how much is a therapy worth to you that no one sees, with no dietary restrictions, no emergency visits, followed by a Certified Provider? We will build the quote together during the first visit.
I already have crowns or bridges. Can I still have them done?
In most cases, yes. Pre-existing conditions are not an automatic contraindication – they are a clinical variable that Dr. Ledda and Dr. Masia assess during the initial consultation.
