Dental Veneers in Olbia: Natural Smile Aesthetics

Chipped, stained or uneven teeth? Dental veneers correct these flaws without deeply affecting the natural structure of the tooth.

They are thin shells applied to the visible surface of the teeth, restoring shape, colour and symmetry to your smile.

On this page you will find the types, the treatment process and the costs of dental veneers at Olbia Dental Studio.

What Are Dental Veneers

Veneers are ultra-thin shells, on average 0.3–1 millimetres thick, applied to the front of the tooth.

They correct minor aesthetic imperfections: chipped teeth, discolouration that does not respond to whitening, small gaps or irregular shapes.

Unlike crowns, which cover the entire tooth, they require minimal or no preparation of the natural enamel. In some cases they are applied without any filing at all.

Our Choice of Material: Mainly Full Ceramic

Why? Composite is a fairly versatile material, and at our dental practice in Olbia we use it occasionally for minor cosmetic treatments: when only one or at most two teeth need treating, in very young patients to maximise the results of orthodontic treatment, or in patients with extensive enamel fractures. In other cases, composite veneers are an affordable cosmetic solution for older patients with a smaller budget, to optimise the aesthetic result of a bimaxillary treatment. The idea is that composite can be used for targeted or finishing cosmetic treatments; when it comes to four or more veneers, we prefer full ceramic.

Full ceramic veneers are ideal for more extensive cosmetic dental treatments. Full ceramic stands the test of time: it is a material with a stronger structure, designed for prostheses such as crowns. It reflects light like natural enamel, with a translucency and lustre that composite cannot replicate, and over time it keeps its colour and surface uniformity unchanged.

Who Are Dental Veneers Suitable For

Veneers are suitable for anyone who wants to improve the look of their smile while keeping a natural, well-proportioned appearance.

They are the ideal solution in cases of:

  • Discolouration that does not respond to traditional whitening
  • Small fractures or chips in the tooth
  • Diastemas, i.e. gaps between teeth
  • Irregular shape or wear, including that caused by mild bruxism

When Veneers Are Not Enough

In cases of marked dental crowding, veneers alone are not the right solution: a clear aligner treatment should be considered first.

Likewise, active periodontitis or untreated tooth decay must always be resolved before any cosmetic treatment. Discover our periodontal treatment protocols in Olbia.

How the Treatment Works

First Visit and Smile Design

We assess the health of your teeth and gums, together with your aesthetic goals. Only then do we create the smile design or smile render: a digital simulation of the final result.

Preparation and Application

Filing of the enamel, when necessary, is minimal and targeted. We then take a digital impression and create the custom-made veneer.

Finally, the veneers are bonded using the latest adhesive techniques, for a stable hold over time.

Who Takes Care of Your Smile Aesthetics

The Dr Carlo Ledda looks after smile aesthetics alongside restorative and prosthetic treatments, with an approach focused on natural, long-lasting results. In addition, for some years now we have complemented cosmetic dentistry with a range of aesthetic medicine treatments performed by a specialist doctor. The aim is to care not only for your smile but also for the harmony of your face with targeted treatments.

How Long Do Dental Veneers Last

Our full ceramic veneers offer excellent long-term durability and, when they are properly maintained, they can last a lifetime, unlike other veneers that need to be replaced a few years after treatment.

It is precisely this longevity that guides our choice of material, along with the quality of the aesthetic result.

How Much Do Dental Veneers Cost in Olbia

The cost varies depending on the number of teeth treated and the complexity of the case.

We offer personalised payment plans and the 19% tax deduction for medical expenses. The final quote is provided after the first visit.

We will soon publish a complete guide to dental veneer prices — the link will be added here as soon as it is available.

Frequently Asked Questions about Dental Veneers

Do veneers damage natural teeth?

No, not if they are applied correctly. The filing is very limited and calibrated case by case: it is a more conservative procedure than a crown.

Can veneers be whitened?

No. Ceramic does not respond to whitening treatments. If you are planning to whiten your teeth, this should always be done before the veneers are applied.

Is the treatment painful?

No. Preparation is carried out under local anaesthesia when necessary, and in most cases discomfort is minimal or non-existent.

Are veneers suitable for crooked teeth?

For mild misalignment, they can improve the appearance. In more severe cases, the most suitable solution is clear aligner treatment, possibly followed by veneers for the final aesthetic touches.
